PSG Visit Rwanda Sponsorship

Rwanda has realized the advantages of promoting the country through football. The image of the country and the interest of Rwanda have largely grown since the first agreement with Arsenal. It now has built upon this partnership with a deal with France’s best football team over the last ten years Paris Saint-Germain F.C.

Visit Rwanda and PSG football club have concluded a 3-year sponsorship deal. Starting from 2020/2021 Premiere Ligue season on, the football and the female P.S.G. players will have “Visit Rwanda” on their shirts. The goal is not only to attract more tourists from PSG fans and France but also from other European countries where PSG is becoming more popular.

The deal will also allow to promote Made-in-Rwanda products (exporting goods such as tea and coffee, fashion, and arts) and will organize a yearly event “ La Semaine du Rwanda “ to be held in Paris. Rwanda tea and coffee will be exclusively served in the Parc des Princes stadium. The local fashion industry will be promoted through PSG platforms. The same for creative arts and local brands will also benefit from this partnership.
As part of Rwanda’s tourism promotion in France and the partnership with PSG, RDB is also working with la Boutique PR company to promote Rwanda to French Travel Trade.

The company is helping to reach out to French operators to add Rwanda to their tour offerings and feature Rwanda in their brochures. Some companies have already agreed to feature Rwanda.

Fam Trip to Akagera National Park

ULS embarked on a fam and team bonding trip to the magnificent Akagera National Park. We wanted to see how National Parks in Rwanda are gearing up for the arrival of international tourists. We were accompanied by 3 experienced driver-guides-Eric Manzi, David Murindwa, and Moses Kirenzi-who were excellent and did a lot for the success of our fam trip.

When we reached the south gate entrance, we showed our COVID-19 test results and they took our body temperature as our cars were being sanitized. It was a thorough check, which gives us confidence that our guests will be safe and that appropriate protocols are in place to ensure that the spread of coronavirus is limited.

After we arrived at the Headquarters a few minutes later we met Sarah Hall. As a Director of Marketing for Akagera National Park, she did a presentation of the Akagera National Park, its past: what has been happening at ANP (Akagera National Park) since African Parks – a non-profit conservation organization that takes on direct responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of protected areas in partnership with governments and local communities – took over. It is present: COVID-19 protocols, anti-poaching measures, and accommodations available from luxury lodges to camping sites. Also its future: the activities on offer, conservation procedures, and much more.

There are several lodgings available for all levels of travelers, because of the size of our team we decided to stay at Akagera Game Lodge, which is undergoing renovations as I type. It is an incredible Lodge, our room-standard double room-had excellent facilities and incredible views of Lake Ihema. We felt safe and well cared for as their COVID-19 prevention methods were of a high standard: sanitizers stationed around the hotel, temperature checks in place, social distancing markings on the floor, and their staff wore preventable contamination clothing.

The next day we inspected Ruzizi Tented Lodge and Karenge Bush Camp (who own 3 campsites where tourists have to bring their tents). It was a magnificent trip with the Uber Luxe Safaris team and our 3 superb driver guides.

Check out our Akagera Itinerary below so you can experience the magical Akagera National Park.

• All travelers arriving in Rwanda must be tested negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of departure (meaning that you get tested and get results no more than 3 days before your first flight), complete the passenger locator form, and upload the COVID-19 test certificate. Please see passenger locator form link on www.rbc.gov.rw.

• All travelers arriving in Rwanda will be screened upon entry and be given a second test to confirm the negative results of first test done prior to arrival.

• All travelers are required to complete 24 hours in a designated transit hotel while awaiting the results of the second test.

• The Government of Rwanda has negotiated special rates at the designated hotels for the waiting period. Should a guest wish to remain in the hotel after receiving negative test results, they are welcome to extend their stay at the applicable hotel’s rates.

• The negotiated hotel rate is on full board basis (inclusive of three meals) and if a guest takes less than the three meals, no refund will be provided. Any extras will be paid separately upon order.
