Arrival Transfer to Serena Kigali
Today you’ll be met by Uber Luxe Safaris staff at Kigali International Airport briefed on your trip and introduction to your driver guide. Then proceed to Kigali Serena Hotel (10 minutes drive from the airport) and check in.

Road Transfer to Nyungwe Forest
After an early breakfast, at 6:00 am, the driver guide will pick you from the Hotel for your road transfer to the southwest corner of the country, where the largest montane forest East and Central Africa is found. The heart of Nyungwe Forest is like a scene from a fairy tale. Tall old mahoganies, ebonies and giant tree ferns tower above you, whilst orchids and other epiphytes cling to every branch. Brightly coloured birds flit around; butterflies are everywhere, including a variety of primates for which Nyungwe National Park is renowned.
Nyungwe Forest lodge is a five star lodge that is built to blend in with surrounding environment and is situated in a tea plantation on the edge of the Nyungwe closed canopy Rainforest.
Canopy Walk Way
Today you will drive to Uwinka RDB offices for the briefing on how you will do the canopy walk.
The Canopy walkway consists of three bridges and three towers and is a total length of the walkway is 160m. The walkway is embedded in a guided tour along Igishigishigi Trail. Taking this tour, a specialised Park Guide will not only show you the forest canopy but also explain why it is an integral part of the tropical rainforest ecosystem. You will learn what the major characteristics of a rainforest and its canopy are and the importance Nyungwe Forest has for Rwanda.
It is a total of 3 hours altogether to the Canopy walkway and back to the RDB offices. Later in the evening you will travel back to the lodge.
In the afternoon, you might decide to have a walk in the tea plantations or may be walking just around the lodge as you explore the beauty of the rainy forest of Nyungwe.
This morning you will drive back to the park headquarters to meet your guide then proceed to the start point that leads you to the water fall trail.
Waterfall Trail starts by the lodge and descends into the forest proper, following flat contour paths through a succession of tree-fern-covered ravines, and crossing several streams, before a sharp descent to the base of the pretty but small waterfall. It takes four hours to cover as a round trip, depending on how often you stop.
This afternoon, you deserve a magical massage from your luxurious lodge and in the evening they can make you fire to refreshen-up as tomorrow you will need fresh energy for the drive.
Road Transfer to Ruhengeri|Musanze
Today you will have your breakfast (06:30am) and get your lunch box then have a scenic transfer to Ruhengeri the second largest town in Rwanda. On reaching you will visit the Ibyi Iwacu cultural village.
IBYIWACU CULTURAL VILLAGE is changing traditional perceptions of what constitutes tourism by turning fate into fame through sharing various aspects of rural cultures and livelihoods into tourist attractions and creating income-generating activities for rural poor people that have lived on bush meat, poaching for generations. The village provides tourists experiences beyond wildlife viewing, the people, culture and how they live. The village also gives a chance to the visitors to enjoy the eight different local dances, listen to Gorilla songs, local food preparations, visit the local healer, visit the king’s place and get to hear all the old stories. After you will proceed to Jack Hanna’s Lodge.

Early in the morning you will have your breakfast, then head to RDB office at 6:30am for Gorilla trekking briefing, before heading to trek mountain Gorillas at 07:00am
Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range - home of the rare mountain gorilla - and the rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath. You may spot a wide variety of bird life but the high point will be spending an hour with the remarkably peaceful gorillas despite their size and appearance as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting and raising their young.
After trekking you will drive back to the lodge for lunch and later have a scenic transfer to Kigali, upon arrival in Kigali you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial site.
The Kigali Memorial exists as a permanent memorial to those who fell victim to the genocide in 1994. It deals with a topic of international importance, with far-reaching significance, and is designed to engage and challenge an international visitor base. Here you will be able to visit the three permanent exhibitions, the largest of which documents the genocide in 1994 and pay tribute to the victims of the genocide.
